Sophie and august, both cuties. This book was cute. I thought it was going to be super amazing because it got so many good reviews, but it was just a very cute story about friendship and growing up in a small town.

There were surprisingly a few layers to Sophie and the story in general that I actually didn’t see coming.

The friend group was super funny. The banter with everyone and Sophie and august was also clever! I truly enjoyed the dialogue!

However, the romantic relationship with Sophie and August kinda fell slightly flat for me. I was waiting and waiting for this big moment, and august kinda just acted a little stupid in some parts.

He didn’t want to be a “burden” and didn’t want to get attached to people, sooo he kinda acted weird towards Sophie at times.

They kissed and then he literally left her in the room ... and left the house when he said he’d be right back. He kept trying to play it cool smh.

They also randomly through in the mom bit. She should’ve either not mentioned it or went into more detail about his past. It was all very surface level.
