Saving Noah by Lucinda Berry

4.0

I have so many conflicting thoughts on this book and that alone is what makes this story impactful for me.

The mother- made me so extremely angry. I get that’s your kid, I do. However, the constant making excuses for him and acting like he has it worse than the people he hurt? Ugh, please stop. He’s a child, yes, love him and show empathy. But do not excuse his actions and downplay those he’s hurt. That was pissing me off.

The dad and the revelation at the end? Unsurprised, I had a feeling the whole book.

Noah, I do feel for, because he is a child himself and he is aware of his actions and how he is harming others. He is not innocent but he is also self aware and doesn’t make excuses for himself, which made me feel empathy towards him and not be as disgusted as I was in the beginning.

Overall this was a very thought provoking and complicated book and worth the read.
