The Christmas Pact
by Penelope Ward, Vi Keeland
You can never go wrong with Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. This Christmas novella was perfect for me during this stressful time. It’s a lovely read and you know that these authors will provide you all the feels. It’s an enemies-to-lovers-fake-romance and these are my top two favourite tropes.
Riley Kennedy’s emails keeps getting mixed up with Kennedy Riley’s emails in their publishing company, but not only does Kennedy (guy) forward his emails to Riley (her), he also sends her his two cents and unwelcome commentaries. They meet up at the company’s Christmas party and of course what starts out as flirty, sassy banter, their time spent together oozes of sexual chemistry. Without getting too much into it, they agree to a fake relationship to help each other out with the woes of their family holiday get-togethers.
It’s a closed-door romance but gets your insides all fuzzy and gooey and fuzzy. I recommend it, especially if you’re having a book hangover and needed something fast-paced. It’s sweet, angsty, and romantic.
