The first part of this book was quite good, dealing with the Insane Asylum and the Alms and work houses. While Stacy Horn doesn't uncover anything new, she does a great job presenting a concise history of these institutions. However the second half of the book seems scattered, and doesn't seem to align with the themes and thesis set up at the beginning.
