The Prince of Tides
by Pat Conroy
I was interested in a glowing ember story about a dysfunctional family in the south. I didn't sign up for this soft serve twist of Days of Our Lives and Deliverance.
The writing was interesting, Conroy played with form and enjoys a metaphor. I can see why some have called it purple, but that doesn't bother me. However, I truly cannot recommend it.
