There is so much I could say about this book and why I loved it..
- If you are feeling a little down about our current democracy, this is a good read to stay in the fight. It reminded me why we protest, canvas, and vote. It also largely reminded me the importance of women and our voices in democracy. It is really easy to experience burn out and want to toss in your hat, but we must keep fighting for a future where everyone is treated equal with equal access to resources
- It was written almost as if Hillary was telling it herself. Reviews vary on this idea because it could come across as offensive to her or Bill, however I think it creates a more personable read and allows the reader to connect with Hillary on a more human level. I personally loved this touch and I eventually was reading it in her voice.
- It is easy to research which portion of this book is true and what is not, I find it important to do your own research but Sittenfield does a marvelous job at shedding light on a previous president that was able to continue gaining from a system he created with barely any scars to show for it.
Overall, a very worth it read even with mixed reviews. It is a dense book, but great reminders especially if you are a feminist. Let this book encourage you to never take your foot off the gas!
