I picked up this book because of the GORGEOUS cover/binding. I like a good witch and magic story so why not? I oscillated between enjoying this book and rolling my eyes. I actually liked Tana quite a bit. Despite her naivety, I enjoyed a girl with a solid foundation and strong sense of duty beginning to question and struggling over the decisions in her future. Wolfe was okay. Their love was cute. I hated her mother. I know she was quite nuanced, but I couldn't get over the lying and using her daughter as a pawn and being okay with it.
