Song of Susannah by Stephen King
4.0

4 stars. This, while not my favorite, was still a really good read. I thought the beginning was great, around the middle it got really muddled and weird (even for the series standard) but then pulls it all together in the end.

I loved that Susannah was the main focus here. She’s been one of my favorite characters since we were first introduced to her in book two so it was wonderful to have an entire book centered on her. I thought her whole plot with Mia and the baby was interesting and strange. We still get the other characters as well but this is mainly about her.

Also, Stephen King put himself as a character in this book. Pretentious? Absolutely. But dammit, it’s Stephen King so I wasn’t even mad at it. It was bizarre but kinda awesome. He mentions his own books within his books quite a bit but to see him write himself as a character was next level. I think only he could get away with doing something like that.

I only have one more book left and I’m so sad about it. I’ve grown to really love this series so much and I really don’t want it to end but I’m curious to see how all of this wraps up.
