Second Chance Contract
by M. Robinson
Should have clued in on how angsty it was going to be with the dedication. It was ANGSTY.
I like a man who grovels to get back with the girl, but this was just a lot of tossing of hurt and feelings back-and-forth that started to get old by the end. I did enjoy Julian’s sincerity, but could understand Autumn’s mistrust of everything he said. I don’t blame her, but it’s unbelievable how much we can hurt the ones we love and boy they showed it often.
Julian is my typical alpha-hole I like, but him calling Autumn “kid” all the time was awkward. I understood where it was coming from given they’ve known each other since she was born, but still. I did adore Julian with Capri, though.
Overall, I enjoyed the book for its angst and though it’s angsty, it was kind of drama-free? Does that even make sense? I guess it’s more in the way that it was always Autumn and Julian and that never deviated. I think if it was a little less angsty, I’d have liked it more.
