I would like to start this review by saying that the end of this novel contains invaluable discussions of life on a reservation, and the struggles that Native Americans have faced every day for generations. It truly opened my eyes and touched me deeply, more so than any other part of the book.

With that being said, I had a hard time with the beginning of this novel, especially with the tone of it. Granted, I'm not a high school freshman, so it's not really geared towards me. It was endearing, but not relatable to me personally.
