Well dang, not only do I have a basketball player on my roster, now I have a Baseball Daddy too lol. Kai Rhodes almost gave Ryan Shay a run for his money. So much so, that I think in a couple instances I would actually choose Kai first lol.

So Kai, aka Baseball Daddy… single dad - HOT. The glasses - I totally have a thing for a hot guy with glasses lol. Major League Baseball player, not hockey but I can live with baseball! Dirty mouth, check. Thoughtful, check. Protective, check. Tattooed, check. Basically he checks all the boxes lol.

Miller Montgomery, fuck do I love this chick. She’s definitely my favourite FMC in this series so far. The shit that comes out of her mouth had me howling. The banter between her and Kai was absolute top tier. Basically their entire relationship and the development of it was perfection.

The other thing that I’m completely obsessed with in this series and particularly this book is the side characters. Monty is now my second favourite dad in any series (the first being Harvey lol.) I feel like his relationship not only with Miller but with Kai and the entire team in general was really amazing. The comedic relief and humour that he brought was excellent. Then we have all of the main characters from previous books as side characters and I love them even more now, even Zander’s lol. I swear, Rio better get his own book or I’m gunna be crushed lol.

After having read all of the currently published books in this series, it’s safe to say that Liz is now an auto buy author for me. Her writing is brilliant and witty and it’s so fucking relatable. You can’t help but get emotionally invested in these characters and she has you feeling everything they do. It’s really quite amazing.

So now I’m eagerly awaiting her next book in the series, Play Along. But I think I might have to pick up her earlier series, The Selfish, has anyone read these?? Lemme know!

“This is why you have Max,” I somehow say. “I’m fairly certain you’re fucking me right past my birth control.”
“Miller.” He halts his movements. “That’s an inside thought.”

“I’d really appreciate it if we steer away from talking about me knocking you up while I’m rearranging your insides.”
I raise an impressed brow. “Yes, Daddy.”
“Jesus Christ.”
