Perhaps if I’d been in a different mood while reading this I might have at least given it a 4 stars, but I found myself uninspired to read this. It wasn’t that it was a bad book, but I definitely didn’t really feel any sort of attachment or emotion for/from the characters and it made this book a bit of a struggle for me to read.
I liked that the heroine was autistic, she was such an interesting person and I liked than she was shown as a strong person. I didn’t really care for Lev at times, I just found him boring. I think the romance was lacking but I’m unsure if that’s because of the nature of their relationship (they’re both not good with people) but it was high in the mystery/suspense to find out who was starting the fires and why. The why had me feeling a bit disappointed, I expected something else so the revenge aimed at someone not really at fault was annoying.
Overall I enjoyed the book, I didn’t think it actually mattered that I hadn’t read the Drake sisters series first, as it was just mentioning certain people and maybe one event, but for the full experience it’s probably better.
