This was such a surprise of a book. I had don't remember when I got this, but holy cow, this book is so good.
Hard hitting, emotional, I teared up more than once. Lily is such a strong person, and I feel for her so much. What she's been through would break most people, but she never allowed it to fully crush her. It likely would have crushed me.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Hudson when his character was introduced. But as I got to know him, I really him. I believed his affection. I had a different theory of what they were holding off on telling her, and when I figured out what they weren't telling her, I don't know why they're keeping it from her.
There are a lot of tough topics covered in this book, and honestly, I just feel that one aspect is something that should be covered in the sequel. Her father forcing her to lie to the cops, is highly illegal... and I hope there are some kind of repercussions or something for that. Like state-judge or not, he forced her to cover up a crime... I feel like something should be done about that.
