I have read hundreds of books and I can count on one hand how many times I have actually cried; this is one of them. Beautiful, but heartbreaking prose. Heart ripped out and stomped on. A very real look at how family history doesn’t go away, but trickles down generations.
Major trigger warnings for parent death, alcoholism, single parents, adoption, etc.
