I've been waiting for this one for so long - when I was emailed the galley last week it immediately jumped up my list. A friends-to-lovers pine-fest is always appealing, especially when we've been watching the pining build in the background over two previous books. Being inside their heads was a delight. Both of them have been the quietest parts of the circle of supernatural friends and Asher does a good job introducing them as full protagonists. As always, Asher does a compelling job sending them on their own character growth journeys in tandem. Her Supernatural world is developed but doesn't require too much exposition and the fact that it's set in NY will always win it points for me. The love story is sweet and the spice is strong - I think this is the best of the series so far.

My main critique was at the beginning there is no clear reason why these two AREN'T together. They're so obviously smitten. That's a super minor note and if you're willing to ignore that, it's a treat of a book.
