Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent
Did not finish book. Stopped at 12%.
While I didn’t get super far into the book and my opinions might have changed, this one wasn’t doing it for me.
I get the sense that the Tisaanah is going to be infantilised throughout the story due to the narrator’s work. She was just voiced to sound VERY young and it took me out of it. I also don’t like what I suspect the romance will be, which is between Tisaanah and Max. With Max as her teacher and Tisaanah as a recently freed slave, I just don’t think her entering a relationship with someone almost 10 years older than her AND with power over her is a good choice.
Outside of that I thought it had a strong intro! I just wish I had a better sense of what the plot would be, it felt like it was dragging in the first two hours.
