💭 After reading "An Evil Mind" I was fascinated with Lucien's character and knowing there is a sequel to this book was icing on the cake but at the same time I was skeptical that Carter will manage to do the justice to it or not but boy, he did more than justice to the sequel.
What a fantastic sequel. There wasn't a second of dull moments throughout the book.
Lucien was the heart and soul of this book and if you have read "An Evil Mind" you know exactly what kind of person he is.
The challenge, the tension, the taunting, the past, and the revenge between Lucien and Hunter make this book one of the best in the series.
Like "An Evil Mind" you will get to know more about Lucien's past and his thoughts and process. The more I read about him, the more I am dumbfounded by him.
The book is very fast-paced and packed with unforeseen twists and turns at every corner till the last chapter of the book.
The short chapter and ending chapters with cliffhangers will make it almost impossible to put down.
Hunter is one of my favorite fictional characters and Lucien is one of my favorite villains.
And to create this type of character is not at all easy. Hats off to Chris Carter to give us these two phenomenal characters.
The knowledge and abilities they both have were exceptional. I, like Captain Blake, sometimes do get scared by Hunter's ability, and think what if he decided to go on the other side, the dark side and mere thought of this gives me chills and goosebumps.
𝐏.𝐒 I loved that Carter didn't kill Lucien and he was alive at the end and managed to give a threat to Carlos. Now I am not sure if Carter will going to write any more books on Lucien in the future but I sure hope he does, I am waiting and rooting for it!!
