📚My review
🌟 Best Summer Read for me Thus far🌟
Kennedy Ryan did a phenomenal job in discussing trigger themes in a delicate/ empathic/ and sensitive matter.  There is no easy way to discuss trauma/ depression or suicidal ideation or death. The story of Yazmen and Joisah was packed with hurt/ pain and unwavering love. I couldn't help but root for them and their family to be reunited.

Character development was stellar even down to their teenage daughter Deja. The friendship with Hendrix, Soledad, and Yaz was done so well and amplified sisterhood. It provided us with a glimpse of their life and everyday struggles.
Lastly, the therapy session and the power of therapy were exposed greatly throughout the story. I loved seeing the nuclear Black family utilizing therapy to unpack childhood trauma, and relationships, and recognize that children can benefit from therapy as well.

I love the holiday time, mother & mother-and-daughter sessions ( Yazmen & Deja, Yazmen and her mother). The book celebrated Black love, joy, and everything in between. With such finesse.

Can we talk about them sexy scenes🎬 cause baby👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿--- Kennedy wrote that the hell outta of it🥵. That car scene was immaculate!!!

Overall, this book was like a cup of hot cocoas and a cozy winter night by the fire. I was encompassed by so many emotions and absorbed the celebration of love after the storm.
