This is the first book I have read by this author, and this is the second book in a series. Being the second in a series in no way was detrimental to my enjoyment of the book. We are introduced to Logan who is a wind elemental. She is young, but she is still a very capable elemental. The story opens with her punishing the people from the first book, Fire, by taking away their magic. As the book progresses, we find out Connell is a wolf that has lost his ability to shift and blames the elementals. He is tracking Logan thinking she’s the one who has done this to him. What follows is an excellently-written story of how both characters find each other while solving what is happening in the shifter community. I was so engrossed in the story, I had a really hard time putting the book down. The mystery was excellent, the characters were very real with Logan being a wonderful mix of newbie but a still capable enforcer, and the plot was great. The only thing I had a hard time with was the name “Logan”; it threw me off a little because I kept expecting a man: my fault not the author’s. Now I want to go back and read the first one and desperately want to read the next one. This will not be my last book by this author, and I am looking forward to more! Highly recommend!
