Synopsis:
Book 2 of the series, Dynasties: The Connellys, who are based in Chicago.
I love books revolving around pregnancy and babies. In this one, we are straightaway introduced to Elena Delgado, who's pregnant via a sperm donor. She's already suffered two miscarriages during her marriage, which ended in divorce, and this baby was all she looked forward to. She is a detective from the SIU of Chicago PD, who is on her way to visit Brett Connelly, regarding the investigation into the attempted murder of his older brother, Daniel, the future king of Altaria.
Brett Connelly, Vice Prez of PR, is smitten with Elena from the first look itself. He turns on his charm, the lady-killer that he is, and takes her out to dinner. A work dinner, of course. He couldn't expect anything more from Elena's no-nonsense attitude.
Review:
I loved how Brett (playboy? nuh-uh) knew everyone by their first name, even in a restaurant. From the first meet itself, he comes to know about Elena's pregnancy, and his protective instincts start raging.
By the way, Brett doesn't live up to his reputation of being a playboy, at all. Rather, he is the sweetest guy around. It's sad that Elena doesn't have anyone to turn to, but I love how pushy Brett is to take care of her. How cutely he worries for her, and also a cute name he gave the baby.
The cover does do justice to the beauty of Elena, as described by Brett.
This is the sweetest book ever; if nothing else, only for the mutual declaration of love. I loved how in the end, the title of the book made sense.

I read [a:Kathie DeNosky|326052|Kathie DeNosky|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1442464559p2/326052.jpg]'s Illegitimate Heirs Series' last four books before this (Yeah, I am weird like that!). But, this one is my favourite book!

But, Babe was a nice surprise, the munchkin, and what a logic behind her name! The adorable little doggy's appearance throughout the text kept me entertained.By the way, Brett doesn't live up to his reputation of being a playboy, at all. Rather, he is the sweetest guy around. It's sad that Elena doesn't have anyone to turn to, but I love how pushy Brett is to take care of her. How cutely he worries for her, and also a cute name he gave the baby.
How could a woman not fall head over heels for a man who had appointed himself her own personal white knight?
