While this book is on the slow side, I found that for the last 1/3 of the book I couldn't put it down.  I did love how the character development in this book spanned the whole book with the ending being extremely enlightening for the main character.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book and this was a first read for me of this author.  I am looking forward to reading some of her other works.
