“I kiss the man I love. My happiest happy ending.”

I’m not in the holiday mood this year, and for some reason it just doesn’t feel like Christmas so I’ve been trying to pick up Christmas romances. I can’t bring myself to pick up a full length book, but I found this cute holiday novella which is set in a bookstore - which is adorable and my favourite setting for a book.

This followed Johnathan and Gabriella, who are rival colleagues who work at this old school bookstore which is likely not going to make it to the New Year at the rate it was going. There were two options: to cut expenses, or to bring up their profits majorly. They have a pact that whoever makes the most sales will stay, and the one who doesn’t will leave so the owners don’t need to fire one of them.

Johnathan, my man. He’s a bit of a grinch at Christmas but he’s sort of a sweetie pie deep down. He may seem grumpy at points but he’ll bring her the peppermint hot chocolate that she adores during the Christmas time, and drive or walk her home. And…. he quoted a Jane Austen book when he was talking to her
