The Hollow Gods by A.J. Vrana
4.0

The Hollow Gods is a dark tale that blurs the line between reality and myth, making the reader question everything. The story lures you in and you are immediately hooked, always wondering what's going to happen.
The book focuses on 3 characters and each chapter is from one of their POV.
Miya is a young woman who struggles with anxiety, depression and insomnia, she never believed in the old folklore that runs through the town but when she starts to have weird dreams she begins to think she is going crazy and that the Dream Walker is coming for her next.
Kai is a young man who has secrets of his own, never letting anyone get too close to him until he meets Miya one night and everything changes for him.
Mason is an oncologist at the hospital in the city but ends up running from his own problems to Black Hollow thinking that this quiet town is the perfect place to grieve and take a break but little does he know that his adventure is only just getting started.
Each character has a distinctive voice so you always know exactly who is at the forefront, and eventually these 3 people cross paths in search for the truth and they come together to help one another try to figure out the curse of the myth that has been plaguing the town's residents for years.
The ending was built up throughout the book and has a nice little twist to it that you may or may not see coming and it is left open to make the reader wonder what is next for these people.
If you are a fan of dark tales with deeper meanings, with aspects of magical realism and fantasy, then this book is the perfect read for you!
