Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come: An Introvert's Year of Living Dangerously by Jessica Pan
3.0
Good message, mediocre execution. I generally found the author annoying in tone/sense of humor but I respect her work ethic in actually trying all of these extrovert activities she set out to do. There are definitely valuable lessons to be had - my enjoyment peaked in the middle of the book after she attended the social classes, tried improv and performed stand-up - and certainly inspirational for fellow introverts that benefits can come from embracing the unknown.
Unfortunately, the last third of the book completely fell flat for me: the Budapest trip was basically just a chapter full of complaints, the shroom experience felt very flimsy and stereotypical, and the dinner party was overdramatized in terms of the magnitude of social accomplishment she had reached.
