Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters

No idea how this has an average 4 star rating. It was like an episode of Scooby Doo set in Egypt in the 1880s.

Zoink! There's a mummy terrorizing us. Ruh Roh! and of course it ends with the most obvious unmasking of the mummy...SURPRISE, it's the one new guy in the episode that isn't part of the main cast!

Seriously, there was no mystery in this book. I found it to be tedious. The romance part of the story was obvious and of course it ended with the utterly cliched "old lady spinster ends up married and pregnant".

I'm definitely not reading the rest of this series.
