A Lowcountry Bride by Preslaysa Williams

slow-paced
A biracial (Black/Asian) bridal designer with low self esteem/low confidence and sickle cell anemia who works for a low key racist well known designer who demeans all of her creations goes home to help her father who broke his hip and reluctantly meets a retired military man who is poorly managing the bridal shop he inherited from his mother while raising a preteen daughter who is traumatized by the murder of her mother in a church massacre and who will not forgive her father for not being there when his commanding officer refused to give him leave. Woooo. A long sentence summarizing a novel incorporating every issue – except romantic attraction - the author can slide into a story.
Disappointing because this author came highly recommended.
