5/5 stars 148 pages this!!! was so good!!!!! a heartbreaking and tender coming of age story interspersed with the narrator in present time in a lonely relationship with her husband. she thinks back to her girlhood with her best friend and how everything felt so big and beautiful and also so mundane. this is drenched in nostalgia. i didn’t expect this book to make me feel so many things. it was also a very short read. highly highly recommend. the sentences and the diction and everything was so purposeful and packed so full of everything i’ve never read another work that sounds like this one.
