The story arc was well thought out, but the actual writing was monotonous and lacked style or nuance. Many of the sentences had the same formulaic structure, and abrupt cliches like “her arms pinwheeled as she caught her balance” or “my mouth formed a perfect O” detracted from the immersive story. That being said, the plot was engaging, and if you can get past the writing style it’s pretty engaging.
