Vienna 1814: How the Conquerors of Napoleon Made War, Peace, and Love at the Congress of Vienna by David King

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
About halfway through the book, the author tells us that the king of Württemberg leaves Vienna, disgusted at the lack of progress. I am in complete sympathy with him.

The real problem with the book, for me, is that everything is treated as equally important. We learn as much about Beethoven as we do the discussions between the king of Prussia and Tsar Alexander. We learn about Metternich's relationship with the Duchess of Sagan in greater detail than we learn about Russian occupation of Poland.

I found myself really wishing that Napoleon had escaped Elba earlier than he did. When I realized it was only December and his escape was still three months away, I gave up.
