Backyard Starship is an adventurous book with some fun sci-fi concepts. It's vibe is kind of like Farscape meets The Last Starfighter. The plot resembles a video game in setup, so if you like that, then it'll be a good read for you. I wanted more character work for Van, but I might get that more in the next entries in the series.
