Hot Wax was a miss for me. Marketed like a thriller, but definitely not one. It’s dense without being rewarding, and by 50% I still couldn’t tell you what the story was about. The two timelines didn’t connect, the current one felt especially weak, and the ending was a total cop-out. I get what it was trying to do, but it just didn’t work.
