Econ 101 through the lens of piracy - a fun read, and super interesting. It’s rare to read a book and feel the author’s passion and joy emanating from the pages, but that’s what I felt in this book.
Minor: Violence, War, Death, Blood, Gore, Racism, Rape, Gun violence, Alcohol, Slavery, and Torture
Has a really interesting section about the racial makeup of pirate ships and the statistics around black and white pirates. I found the exploration of race in this context to be respectful and straightforward, and doesn’t sugarcoat anything but does present an alternative perspective than what we are typically shown.
