The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston
5.0

This book was a beautiful love story. It felt like a hug from your dad when your life is falling apart. I cried 3 times reading this and also laughed and lost my breath a few times. The romance in this book is soft and exactly what it needs to be. If the romance was any pushier or rougher it wouldn’t have fit Benji and Florence’s story.
What Lee did was so wrong and distasteful and heartbreaking. Since Flor is a writer I can imagine it’s equally as painful.
This book was beautiful to me and made me feel so sad but not in a tragic “I hate this book” way. Just made me wonder about my own life and how I see the people I lost in my life. The idea of a passing life being a celebration has one I have always embraced but his funeral with the balloons and party hats was beautiful, funny, and well tragic just like I keep saying.
The authors discussions notes at the end of my book is what made me cry one final time before I closed this book.
I will read this book again in a heartbeat, thank you Ash.

“Florence’s dad said that the people we love are in the wind and I believe it. I think, that the people we love can be found in the pages of books too. I hope you find yourself in a book someday.
And I hope that book lives forever.” - Ashley Poston
