The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle

I was a bit surprised to find that I enjoyed this book so much! But it really paints a picture of fairness and generosity that is hard to find in this world. I also enjoyed that the writer was gifted enough to follow the character all the way through the breaking up of his band and eventually his death, all while maintaining the integrity of his heroism... Truly an art lost in modern times. It seems that in our day, stories end in the lime light and we like to think of our heroes as invincible to changing times. This story is a must read and I'm putting it on my list of books to read to my children!
