The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse

2.75

With a setting as ominous and creepy like the sanatorium and its remote location in the Alps, the atmosphere was almost set.

Too bad the writing didn't take advantage of it. Just telling me something was creepy doesn't have the same effect as showing me. The book had its slow moments and failed to completely win me over. I didn't like the main character nor her brother or partner. The highlight of the book was each time they'd discover the body because the characters would get more paranoid.

But the final reveal was... okay, I guess?
