The Chronicles of Amber: Volume I by Roger Zelazny

3.0

I've had Zelazny on my to-read list for ages, but finally got around to it when a friend loaned me his copies of the Amber series. I was warned to expect some dated (1970s) language and social mores, but that didn't bother me much. What bothered me was how flat the story felt. I can't find fault with the writing, the characters, or the plot, but it never really grabbed me. I'm curious enough to keep reading and finish out the Amber story, but I don't think I'll seek out any more by this author.
