House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

Blurb: Bryce used to be a party girl; drugs, booze and men were her life. Until her best friend and her pack were brutally murdered. Two years later and she's tasked with finding out the truth and has to deal with a hot enslaved angel who watches her every move. Bryce learns the truth of who she really is as well as a few life lessons along the way.

Overview: Okay, so I whole-heartedly admit that fantasy isn't my usual genre. In fact this is only the second fantasy type book I've read (unless you count Twilight as fantasy). And it's a big book...like 800 pages! I won't lie, I was a bit daunted when my book club suggested this for our first read...but oh my god. I am in love with this book! I loved Bryce. She reminded me so much of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I just love her! And the sexual tension between her and the fallen angel Hunt was just...hot!
