Witching Moon by Poppy Woods

3.75

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and would be interested in others told in the same world. The narrators did a lovely job with one glaring exception: Luna's voice in Alandra's POV. I actually really liked Alandra's voice, but Luna's high-pitched, lilting tones made her sound ditzy and/or high af instead, rather than dreamy, which I think might be what the narrator was going for. And I'm not usually so nitpicky, but the way she pronounced the term of endearment "little witch," which came out sounding more like "lllittlewitch," was seriously obnoxious.

For some reason, I didn't realize it was a different narrator reading Luna's POV, and it was very off-putting that Luna sounded completely different (and fantastic!) in her own chapters. I'm not sure why the audio director let this slide, to be honest. It's literally the only thing I didn't like about the recording. The story and worldbuilding were interesting, and the narration otherwise was great, but this one flaw affected my enjoyment enough to influence my overall rating.
