The Persecution Complex: Why American Christians Need to Stop Playing the Victim by Jason Wiedel

informative reflective medium-paced

3.0

This has an overall better representation than I expected. I grew up with Jason, and remember lengthy discussions about a lot of the book’s topics at “small group” meetings and whatnot. Chapter 6 needs some tweaking, it was too rushed and appears to place an unfair characterization on the LGBT community.
I’d be curious to read a follow up to this, a modernization that follows Jason’s transformation and potentially deconstruction of American Christian ideology.
But I LOVE the attention given to the concept of redirecting the energy spent on claiming persecution toward injustices that far deserve that investment.
