Ambiguous Adventure by Cheikh Hamidou Kane

4.0

this is an amazing example of postcolonial literature, and specifically focuses on the impact of colonisation on faith and education. As readers, we get to see how the speakers relationship with God changes and develops, as well as how his sense of identity is impacted by both colonisation and migration. I appreciated the way interesting philosophical points that were raised in the novel. I do think however that the ending is rather underdeveloped, and I would have preferred some more detail - as readers we are left with a minimal understanding of a very important plot development. I think this is a missed opportunity.
