Rewriting the Stars by Claire Kingsley

❛ I wasn’t her Romeo. Turns out, I was something better. Romeo and Juliet had died tragically. But star-crossed lovers we were not. We’d rewritten the stars. ❜

I wanted to obsess about a good series and I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest to pick up 'The Bailey Brothers'. Just sad I devoured it so fast

and when I say I enjoyed it so much it’s an euphemism! I loved everything, even the squirrel!

first Gram Bailey, she carried the series and was this seventy something badass who had a sixth sens and knew EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved her character and relationships with each grandson and appreciated the diversity that her personage and aboriginal ethnicity added to the plot and to the Bailey family’s dynamics.

secondly, the mystery around the feud and the Montgomery treasure was pulled cleverly; the chronology of events in each book and what happened to each main characters in their own books were all masterly drawn schemes to the PERFECT ending.

"I was a Bailey in love with a Haven."

In this book the references to Romeo and Juliette were thrown here and there, but it was fitting. Annika was a Haven and Levi a Bailey. Their families had been ENNEMIS for generations, hence the feud.

"We were just friends, but even that was forbidden according to the rules of the feud."

they defied the odds and became friends in High school more like “pen pals ”. maybe a little sneak peak at their correspondence back then would’ve been a good start for the book. they fell in love pretty much quickly and I was excepting a slow burn but anyway that wasn’t all of a sudden kind of story and the insta lovely situation wasn’t impromptu. Annika had a little boy and I loved his relationship with Levi but there wasn’t a lot of depth to it. there was a lot going plot wise so it was sort of understandable that the relationship between the son and the love interest wasn’t a lot explored like i wished.

Anyway this Bailey was no exception, I loved him as much as his brothers. And I’m sooo excited for the Haven series to come out !!!!!
