Becoming by Michelle Obama
5.0
Here's the thing, I'm not a political person. I generally try to avoid politics. But I love the Obama's as people. Listening to Michelle Obama discuss her life is one of the best things of this year so far. If anyone denies that they care about people, they are insane. It's even more obvious to me from this book that Michelle worked her way up from the bottom and throughly cares about people.
My most favorite part of this book, as terrible as it sounds, is when she was discussing her father as he became more ill and eventually passed away. In my life, I have dealt with a very similar situation. My father became ill, refused medical attention until the end, when it was too late. It really personalized her for me and I feel an unspoken connection with her for this.
Overall, I feel Michelle presented her life story very well and I am so happy I was able to listen to her tell it.
