*squeal* Ok, it’s official: this was my favorite one in the series. I’m obsessed with Eve and Jacob. The autism representation is wonderful on its own, but I really loved how purposeful Hibbert was in establishing the validity of self-diagnosis.
A formal diagnosis was important and helpful to Jacob growing up, but in Eve’s case, it’s enough that she knows herself, and doesn’t need anyone else to confirm it for her. I love that! It’s so representative of the spectrum of people on the spectrum (forgive me, I couldn’t resist) and their wildly varying needs.

Graphic: Ableism, Abandonment
Minor: Bullying
