From page one you are totally hooked! This was a fast, page-turner that I could not put down. This book is not for the faint-hearted as the torture scenese are very gruesome. However, for me, I found the psychological addiction between kidnapper/torturer and victim to be most disturbing.

THe story goes back and forth between the detective's captivity with a female serial killer and a current serial killer case he is working on. I found I was more interested in his captivity and current relationship with his captive than I was with the case he was working on. I didn't really care anything about it. In the end, however, it all became clear. Highly recommend.
