The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene
2.0

I read this because it's my dad's favorite book and it seemed useful. It is, in a way, but all of its value can be gleaned from the first 10 pages or so (the summary of the laws). The writing is insufferable and unbelievably egotistic (which is perhaps the point?). Greene seems to have mastered the art of rehashing a single thought 10 times across an entire book but also within the same paragraph. To be aware of these laws is to develop an ear and instinct for it, I guess. This could have been far more concise. I feel too fatigued to even skim the book in order to find quotes or lessons I like. Completely unenjoyable reading experience, or maybe I'm just not a self-help girl.
