To Swoon and to Spar by Martha Waters

4.5

Continuing on with review of this series, this one was one of my faves of the bunch. Penvale was a character whose story I was excited for and it was nice to see him outside of the collective group.

One of the consistent criticisms I see of this book is the fact that it takes place away from the main town. However, I enjoyed that about this book. I enjoyed seeing Penvale outside of his relationships with the others and watch him have to deal with things on his own. It was good to see him encounter someone who made him question his decisions and priorities without too much influence from the group.

Plus, who can resist a good marriage of convenience. It’s a trope I love and will continue to love, I’m sure of it. I have since finished this series, so I have since seen some of the future of this group and did enjoy it.
