Wavewalker: a Memoir of Breaking Free
by Suzanne Heywood
adventurous
emotional
medium-paced
Wave walker is intriguing and inspired me to learn a lot about a lot of islands I had never heard of before. The story itself progresses well, it doesn’t exactly lag but it is a bit slow at times. The time passing was also difficult for me to key up with because even though the time periods were clearly marked, the passage of time was difficult to comprehend.
Overall, I enjoyed reading about Sue’s upbringing, and an inspired by her grit and determination to take control of her own life. There are a lot of sad parts to this story, and some of them were difficult to read and not pass judgement too harshly on the characters.
I know it wasn’t the complete point but I have never been so inspired to travel (it will pass, I’m sure).
