Talented writer! I felt absolutely transported back in time to the setting of this book. However, I only found myself really liking one of the main characters. I appreciated seeing the story from multiple perspectives, though; that was really interesting. I didn’t particularly enjoy the last part; however, it was a great book! A bit out of my comfort zone, so that’s probably why I didn’t love it. But otherwise, an enjoyable historical novel.
Graphic: Kidnapping and Stalking
Moderate: Animal death, Alcohol, Child death, and Confinement
Minor: Blood, Excrement, Vomit, Injury/Injury detail, and Murder
