The Rakess
by Scarlett Peckham
Romantic. Deliciously gothic. Hot. Feminist AF. The heroine’s female friends are even more important to her than the hero is, for most of the book.
Scarlett Peckham has outdone herself. The obstacle(s) keeping these two characters apart are more than some simple miscommunication or minor misfortune. They have to talk to each other AND decide if they’re willing change for the other, and Peckham doesn’t make any of that look easy.
It’s outrageous that this book only costs $7.99. It should be a $28 hardcover.
Warnings for alcoholism, death in childbirth, miscarriage, and animal harm by a villain.
