Starless Night by R.A. Salvatore
3.0

The first half of this book suffers hugely from the characters' (very reasonable) trauma being processed by everyone going solo, blaming themselves, lashing out, and refusing to work together or act like their usual selves. Again -- fair, they are processing the
Spoilerdeath of a loved one
but not done in a way that's fun to read. The second half picks up and becomes extremely fun when
SpoilerCatti-Brie and Artemis Entreri are forced to become a dynamic violence team as they attempt to heist Drizzt from where he's got himself damseled
. I especially enjoyed
SpoilerArtemis Entreri being forced to drink 'Respect Catti-Brie' juice as she did things like 'take on an entire herd of minotaurs' and 'drop an enormous stalactite on the most important building in Menzoberranzan'
. Hopefully we're done with character alone time for the next few bits, because when the characters are together it's honestly a super fun dynamic.
